1. THE GOSPEL: JESUS AT THE CENTRE

1 Cor 15: 1-2: “Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.”

Gal 1: 11-12: “I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin.  I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.”

2. WORD: ENGAGING BIBLICAL TEACHING

Acts 2: 42: “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching…”

2 Tim 3: 16-17: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of Godmay be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

 

3. SPIRIT: AN OBVIOUS MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WITH AN EMPHASIS ON THE PROPHETIC AND HEALING

Acts 1: 8: “…you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you…”

Matt 10: 1: “Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to…heal every disease and illness.”

1 Cor 14: 1: “…eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy.”

 

4. WORSHIP: WHOLEHEARTED PRAISE AND DEVOTION TO GOD

Acts 2: 46: “Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts… praising God…”

Psalm 29: 2: “Ascribe to the LORD the glory due to his name; worship the LORD in the splendour of his holiness.”

 

5. PRAYER: RELEASING GOD’S POWER AND PRESENCE THROUGH PRAYER MINISTRY AND INTERCESSION

Acts 2: 42:  “They devoted themselves…to prayer.”

1 Tim 2:1: “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people…”

 

6. EMPOWER: EQUIPPING GOD’S PEOPLE TO USE THEIR GIFTS IN LIFE, SERVICE AND MINISTRY

Eph 4: 11-12: “So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up….”

Rom 12: 6-8: “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith;  if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach…..”

 

7. REACH: ACTIVELY REACHING THOSE OUTSIDE THE CHURCH   WITH THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS, INCLUDING OVERSEAS MISSION AND PARTNERSHIP

Matt 28: 19-20: “Go and make disciples of all nations…”

Acts 2: 47: “..the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

 

8. RELATIONSHIPS: A LOVING AND WELCOMING COMMUNITY OF GRACE, WHO LAUGH AND HAVE FUN TOGETHER

Acts 2: 44: “All the believers were together and had everything in common.”

Acts 28: 2:  “The islanders showed us unusual kindness. They built a fire and welcomed us all…”

Ps 126: 2: “Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.”

 

9. CREATIVITY: REFLECTING GOD’S CREATIVE NATURE AND LOVE FOR DIVERSITY

Gen 1: 1: “In the beginning God created…”

Ex 35: 30-35: “… the Lord has chosen Bezalel…and he has filled him with.all kinds of skills – to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic crafts…”

Rev 7: 9: “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.”

 

10. A CULTURE OF HONOUR: HONOURING GOD ABOVE ALL, AND THEN HONOURING ONE-ANOTHER, CREATING AN ENVIRONMENT OF GRACE, FREEDOM, RESPONSIBILITY, GROWTH AND CREATIVITY.

John 5: 22-23: “…the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, that all may honour the Son just as they honour the Father. Whoever does not honour the Son does not honour the Father, who sent him.”

Rom 12: 10: “Be devoted to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves.”

 

11. NEXT GENERATIONS: INVESTING IN CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE THAT THEY WOULD LOVE AND FOLLOW JESUS

Ps 78: 4: “…we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done. “

Ps 145: 4: “One generation commends your works to another;  they tell of your mighty acts.”

2 Tim 3: 15: “…from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures…”

 

12. GIVE: GENEROSITY AND SACRIFICIAL LIVING

Acts 4: 32: “All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.”

2 Cor 9: 6-8: “Remember this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

1 Tim 6: 18: “Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.”

 

What We Believe In

  • The one true God who lives eternally in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
  • The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world
  • The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God fully trustworthy for faith and conduct
  • The dignity of all people, made male and female in God’s image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement
  • The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ born of the virgin Mary, truly divine and truly human, yet without sin
  • The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God
  • The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruit of our resurrection his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world
  • The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ
  • The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness
  • The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit’s gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love
  • The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, and establish a new heaven and new earth.
